Who we are as Augustana starts with what we believe. We believe that all of us -including you- matter to God. Not because of who we are, where we are from, or how good of a person we are, but because Christ Jesus came to walk among us. He took on death and defeated it, saving us from our limited, inadequate, self-centered, and otherwise broken selves. This is what it means to be a Christian.
More specifically, we as Augustana are Lutheran; it's actually part of our name. We believe we are saved by the grace of Jesus that comes through faith; it cannot be earned. For more specific information about what we believe, click here.
We Care. . . .
Because you matter to God, you matter to us. Every week, we meet to receive anew the good news of Christ Jesus and also to remind each other of God's work in our lives. We share our lives together at Augustana from its brightest peaks to its darkest depths because it all is relevant to God. We care because God is at work in all our lives.
We Share. . .
Grace, forgiveness, new life? That does sound like something worth sharing! For over a century, Augustana has been proclaiming the good news of Christ Jesus in Genoa, and has supported others in their proclamation throughout Nebraska, the United States, and the world over. We support other churches through our connections to the Nebraska Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
